The Alamo Motel's design reflects the surrounding area with a nod to southwest culture in general and to Georgia O’Keeffe’s home in Abiquiú in particular. Each room was designed in collaboration with Shaun Wallace of Gopher Wood Design to reflect Georgia O’Keeffe’s signature use of plywood. Desks, small tables and benches in each room were inspired by her simple and intelligent use of this common material. Prints in the rooms and lobby by California artist Meagan Donegan reflect the rich agricultural history of the surrounding areas, while lighting from Atelier De Troupe elevate the atmosphere with elegant simplicity.
Where are we?
Los Alamos is surrounded by farms and wineries. The land is vast and open, minimal color but rich in texture.
